Your first conversation

  1. Choose two languages. Select the language you speak and the language you want to read.
  2. Prepare languages. Chrome may download language packs the first time. Keep this tab open until they are ready.
  3. Start your microphone. Allow microphone access when your browser asks. Live translations update while you speak, then settle into final captions. Preview wording may change; spoken playback waits for final phrases.

Use current desktop Chrome. Availability depends on your device, browser policies, and language pair. Speech recognition usually needs an internet connection. This app does not record audio or save sessions automatically.

For a two-person conversation, stop the microphone, swap languages, prepare the new direction, then start again. Voice playback uses installed browser voices; headphones prevent feedback.

This independent prototype recreates the core live translation workflow. It does not include Maestra’s speaker detection, voice cloning, meeting integrations, or shared sessions.
